The Federal Triangle station is the closest to two museums - National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of American History, both of which are free museums and managed by the Smithsonian Institution. The Ellipse, which is a huge park located directly at the south of the White House, is just a short walk from the station.
Federal Center (Blue, Silver, and Orange Lines)
This station is located close to the east end of the National Mall. It is only a short distance from the US Capitol Building, National Air and Space Museum and United States Botanic Garden
Gallery Place – Chinatown Station (Yellow, Red, and Green Lines)
Gallery station is close to the heart of Penn Quarter in downtown Washington, DC. It offers access to the Verizon Center and some of the best restaurants in the area. You can also visit Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery via the Gallery station.
Archives (Green and Yellow Lines)
Located in Penn Quarter, this station is just a few blocks from the National Gallery of Art, National Mall and National Museum of Natural History. Through Archives station, it is quite easy to visit many downtown Washington, DC attractions like independent museums and restaurants.
